The Cost of Needless Complexity

Complexity in business can be an advantage or disadvantage; needless complexity falls into the disadvantage category. Needless complexity contributes to reduced understanding, a reduction in manageability, and unpredictable outcomes – all of which contribute to a reduction of annual profits.

Recently I read in INC magazine that the world’s top 200 companies lose 10% of their annual profits to managing complexity. Regardless of business size, a 10% loss can be a significant amount!
